cannot connect to internet

i know this sounds fimiliar... but on my x5 ppc2002, in internet explorer, i always get a "page not found" error. I have tried the welcome.exe thing but that does nothing. I get an IP adress and the signal is strong. BAHHHH why me!!

Did you start PIE after your WiFi card was assigned an IP?

I've found on mine that if PIE was started before my WiFi card got an IP, it would give me a 'Page Not Found' error. Just close PIE with switcher bar and start it up again. Also, make sure your card isn't in 'power save' mode, it turns out that that option actually turns the card off.

If you truly have a valid IP number, the 'page not found' problem with the X5 is typically due to not having the proper DNS assigned by the router. Try connecting with an IP number such as Google at http://216.239.39.99/

Check the WiFi How-to linked from my signature for more troubleshooting help.

The school also might have WEP, because I know some places I get a good signal, but I always get the Page Cannot Be Found, even after I tried my own little "welcome.exe" trick.

Ask the principal for the WEP Password.

Sandisk WiFi? That may be your trouble, it's too new and the drivers are intended for WM2003. It might work if you upgraded.
