Mad SanDisk Connect Plus 128MBWiFi and Axim5

I was going nuts trying to figure out why I couldn't get the Connect Plus to work.

Finally, I called SanDisk and was told that the Connect Plus card is not compatible with the X5.

The SanDisk rep said that the X5 hardware prevents this connection. He also told me that they just discovered this incompatibility last week (end of May). If I wanted, they would send me a WiFi card and separate SD card in exchange for the Connect Plus. I said no thanks, and just returned it to the electronics store (Fry's) after telling their salespeople of this problem.

That's been known for a long time. Dell even sold the Sandisk card on their website with a disclaimer stating it was not for use with the X5 (maybe still does).

My friend got it to work on his X5 Basic. The WiFi Works well....sometimes it requires a few tries to get working perfectly, the only thing is that the Memory part doesnt work. He felt that he would just go buy an extra memory card and kept the ConnectPlus.

l had also bought this card earlier this year; I had trouble with it and did some searching, to find out exactly what SanDisk said. I also found out that the wireless will work, if the Axim is on ac power when you start trying to use the card. You can run around on battery after you connect, but that's only of mild interest, since no one I know wants to carry an ac adapter around all the time.
Everything will be ok in the end. If it's not ok, then it's not the end. Unless you're dead, then it's the end for you, but what would you care, especially since it's not the end for someone else. Unless everybody's dead...but then there are probably some aliens alive somewhere, and it's not the end for them.

I just got the connnect plus card and have the same problem. Maybe i would return it to the store. Sigh, maybe i just need find another cheaper wifi card and storage to get it work. It's all the problems involved the old CF slot on Axim x5. Dell may not planning release new driver to solve the problem. So i think it could be a good way to get another one. By the way, Axim X5 doens't support SDIO so don't expect the Sd wifi card would working properly.
