My X5 got wet now CF card doesn't work

My 400 mhz X5 accidently fell in the water. I pulled the batteries off, the CF and SD cards, and finally the back case. After it looked dryed out I turned it on and all seemed ok, until I tried putting the CF card back in. Now everytime I put the CF card in the screen goes blank. After removing the CF card I get the error mesage that the Axim has entered sleep mode to protest it from hardware damage.

I have completely taken it apart, cleaned everything near the CF slot with an alcohol soaked que tip, and blown it out with compressed air. All to no avail. Everything works ok as long as I leave the CF card out. I have tried several CF devices all with same error message.

Any ideas????

There was contamination on/between the leads on several IC's. I could see the discolorization with a magnifying glass.

I soaked the leads with alcohol, using a que tip. Then ran a small screwdriver tip between the leads, again using the magnifying glass. The third step was to blow out all alcohol, etc. with compressed air. After repeating this several times on both sides of the MB, I reassembled it enough to fire it up and it worked!
