Very poor (financially) n00b question (CF cards)
Hi
First off, love the site and forum! I have just bought an Axim X5 (400Mhz, 48MB Rom, 64MB RAM, etc etc), and wanted to double check a few things. I know there is (was?) a problem with the X5 and SanDisk SD cards, and a few CF cards. I have had a look around, but not found a lot of mention about problems with CF cards of any specific brand. Does anyone have any information (good or otherwise) about Kingston or Viking brand CF cards and the X5? Im looking at 256MB at the moment (extremely poor and just upgraded from my old Handpring Visor deluxe) and cannot afford to buy a lemon that wont work with my X5. Apologies if this has been asked before, but I did search and found nothing that fully answered my questions. Also (for UK members): Any recommendations of screen guards for sale in the UK?? Many thanks

I think in general, you shouldn't have to worry about Kingston or Viking brands; I personally have a Kingston 512 SD card and it's been fine so far. I have heard that Viking is ok too.
Have you looked at Happycheesecake's SD guide found here? Keep in mind that any card can fail, but hopefully if it does, you will have an up-to-date backup and have also chosen a brand with a good warranty. ![]()
