Hello,
I just bought a Symbol wifi card Wednesday on ebay and it is expected to arrive tomorrow (6/21/04). I am not sure if it has the lastest drivers with it, but if it doesn't which driver do I get the Symbol one or the Socket one. Also please tell me where you get them at. I heard that the Symbol driver doesn't allow you to shut off the wifi card, but the socket one does. Is this true?

Get the Symbol driver but when you install it, make sure you select the "Driver only" option in the installation program. If you do so, you will be able to turn off the card without unplugging it. However, if you choose another option during the installation then the "Mobile Companion" software will be installed, too, and then you will not be able to turn off the card. The Mobile Companion is just a helper application, it is not needed to use the card.
