X5 slot not taking SD Card

I finally upgraded my wife's X5's OS to mobile 2003. The upgrade went smoothly. However, after putting the CF & SD Cards back into the slots, the SD card won't stay in.

We can grab the data in the card as long as I hold the card in with my thumb.

Can anyone help us please.

Do you push it in until you feel the click?

It sounds like a hardware issue, so an upgrade would have nothing to do with it.

Try what lappdogg suggested.

You know, if you get a solution holla back at me.

But I do agree I think it's hardware,
the same thing happened on my digi cam.

It'll read the card while you hold it, but you have to hold it down pretty firm and it won't click down no matter what you do. Aggravating.

When you removed the card, did you push it in and then let it pop out, or did you just pull it out? If you just pulled it out you may have broken the mechanism, in which case you are toast.

I can't remember if I pushed then pulled. Yes, you are right I may be toast.

Does anyone know of a place or site where I can take this in for repair?

got it to work

Hi all

I had the same problem and now i fix it. What i did was, I opend the x5 all the way so that i could see the slot to my sd card. if you hold it like you want to look inside the slot, then on the right side of the slot, there is a little spring that needs to be pushed bag and down, not much but just a little. Mine is working now. Did it make sense what i just wrote??
sorry about my english.

Territit, you're English is fine.

I'm not too keen in opening up small yet expensive equipment. If anyone here thinks it is OK to do internal surgery on an Axim X5 or anyone else had experience with performing this, please let me know.

I just want some reassurance.

Ive opened up my X5 about three times now, twice to paint it (i put it back together for pictures) and once just to look around. As long as you are careful and look at a guide to opening it, you should be fine, just dont force anything.
