Question Annoying noises

How can I get the annoying noises to stop when I connect the device to the cradle? I managed to disable them on the Axim, but what about on the desktop itself? I looked in the Microsoft Activesync folder and found 2 wav files...I wonder if I could "replace" them with 2 wav files that are just blank. Any other way would be better though.

If you go into the Control Panel on your PC there should be an icon called something like Sounds and Multimedia.

If you click on this icon it will bring up all the sound properties for all events on your computer. If you scroll the list there should be a couple entries for Microsoft ActiveSync (Connect Confirm, and Disconnect Confirm).

Simply select None for the name of the sound file from the Name drop down list. Of course if you prefer, you could also change the sounds to something less "annoying".

Whenever I select "none" for the connect/disconnect sound, my PC gives a loud "beep" from the internal piezo speaker when I dock/undock my Axim. Anyone know how to disable this?

Try on your mobile device: Settings/Personal/Sounds & Notifications/Notifications
1. Select an event:
ActiveSync: Begin sync
ActiveSync: End sync
2. Select how to be notified
Uncheck Playsound (in both cases).
