Worried When removed from the cradle

Along with the Axim dieing I also get a dialog box when I remove it from the cradle that the main battery is very low. Device now in sleep mode. All data may be lost. This is after the device has been in the cradle for a hour or so or even overnight. When you check the battery status it is reading 100%. A little freaky. Anyone else see the same thing?

Check to make sure the backup battery is making good connection with the contacts. Some folks have put a little piece of foam or some padding between the backup battery and the cover for it to press the battery into the contacts more firmly.

I know your message says main battery, but from some other posts I have read, the error is more associated with the backup than the main.

Thanks I will give that a try. Maybe that will take care of all of my problems.

Worried Sleep Mode in the Cradle

Now when I turn my Axim on while in the cradle it is telling me that the main battery is low and the device is now in sleep mode and and date will be lost. When not at work the device stays in the cradle. Main battery reads 100% and the back-up reads 90%. Will the thing ever get to a happy medium as to where it will do like it is supposed to? I am waiting to see if anyone else have been having the same problems I am having. It seems to be something other than a charging problem.

Also now anytime I turn the device on I get the sleep mode dialog box. System still seems to be working OK. Only dumped itself 3 times since I got it in December.

The good news is that another user reported that a hard reset stopped this problem of not responding to the true battery condition.
The bad news is that your backups my be unusable if they restore the problem.

Worried Bad Back-ups

I have already seen the instances of the back-up causing some of the problems. 3 times I have had to restore. This last time I did a fresh install of everything. Hasn't dumped itself in about a week. Still get the sleep messages and low battery. I had Dex-plor installed and because i have to write to the Dex-plor people every time I do a install for the reg key I am holding off to see if this thing dies again. I have put foam on top of the back-up battery to help it seat. Still showing 90%. Time will tell.
