Worried Empty battery?

I left my Axim out of the cradle yesterday evening after charging it in the cradle... The main battery was empty this morning :crooked:

I didn't leave it on (and if so it should turn itself off after 3 minutes) or something?

There are power down settings but they can be turned off... Look under the battery settings screen settings etc...

Also by chance did you have an appointment that might have turned the Ax on. If so it could have sat with the screen on after you put it down depending on your battery settings.

Maarten,

Your not alone. Please search for the thread (in this forum) title "Axim is dead?" There you'll find a slew of folks (including me) who've had their Ax battery drain completely over night (mine happened last weekend). No one seems to know why, but several folks are talking with Dell searching for answers.

So far most have only reported this problem occuring once.

Moral to this story is: back-up your data often and load critical documents to your expansion cards or the built in storage so they're not lost when the gremlin strikes.

Add mine to the list. Except this has happened twice to me and I have only had the Axim for 2.5 weeks.

Fully charged at the end of the day, overnight in my briefcase, dead in the morning.

Add my name to list.

I charged my Axim (about 6 hours worth) turned it off. Went to used it 23 hours later, Axim telling me battery was dangerously low, 12% charge

almost freaked at the idea of losing my data.

did a complete back up and incrementals after that
