Hi everyone,

I have had a few problems with my Axim when I try to use my headphones to listem to MP3s. Any help or suggestions that you may have are appreciated. The problems are:

1) When I connect headphones, sound continues to come out through the speaker on the unit itself.

2) When headphones are connected, the battery life visibly drains. I have seen it drop to less than 50% in less than 10 minutes. Disconecting the headphones causes the battery indicator to quickly rise back to 100%. This happens every time I use headphones, and I have tried several different kinds (so it is the unit and not defective headphones).

Has anyone else experienced these problems?

I love everything else about my Axim, and I can't wait to learn more!

Thanks,

MIXA

Not normal. Call and have them send you a new one.......You get to keep old one until new one arrives , then you send old one back,.,,,,,

Sounds like you have a problem with your connector in the Axim. Connecting your headphones should then disconnect your speaker connection internally. Probably a short on the board and this is why you see an appreciable drop in power... your headphones are probably acting like a high amp fuse and isn't blowing!

Might be time to call Dell and relate the problem. I don't think it is a field fix from the sounds of it.

Thanks for the help and advice. I called Dell to suggest that there was some sort of problem. I have been told that they are investigating the problem and will advise within 48 hours. I hope that they can send a unit out before I have to send this one back. I've only had it for 10 days now, but I don't think that I could do without it for even a day!
