ActiveSync, Server Busy, and 3.6

Also posted in the Software forum, just in case.

Hey guys, just some questions...

After un-docking my Axim today, I got a Server Busy error with the Activesync logo next to it. I couldn't close the darn thing either. This worried me, so I docked again and re-synced and finally got the error to go away. I've never seen this error before, and am wondering if it has something to do with my new PC (Win XP Pro, Dell 8250, 3.0ghz) whereas my old setup was on Win2k Pro.

I have ActiveSync 3.5 installed off my Axim CD. Is 3.6 worth it? I tried installing 3.6 but it stopped responding after it copied files necessary for the installer. I could see the setup files running under Processes, but nothing was happening. Does Activesync 3.5 have to be installed/shut down before I install 3.6? I couldn't find a way to shut down Activesync.. what is its process name?

Thanks for any and all help.

I use ActiveSync Toggle to disable the active sync. It works fine.

You can get it at:

Tell me if Active Sync 3.6 is worth installing.

You can use MS Downloads just fine. The only problem is, you need the dell USB driver. I forgot my install CD at work and needed to sync the Axim at home. I downloaded the AS 3.6 and then dug around in Dell's site for a while before I found their USB driver download. Unzip the driver into a folder, run the AS 3.6 setup, plug in the Ax, and it should pick it up fine.
