Hey, what about just copying that file that comes already installed on functioning SD cards?
Can someone post a copy of the file so we can download it?

The biggest Problem with these lousy Sandisk cards is that many apps cannot be installed onto the card. Sometimes installing into main memory and then copying the exe files onto the card and re-setting the link helps but not always.
THERE MUST BE A SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM?????!!!!?????

agreed-
If we can't find one, we should pressure Sandisk to come up with one

I have at last found a solution to the Axim SD problem.
After testing approx 6 different brands and all sizes I have found that the only make which really works without any problems whatsoever is Panasonic. They are of a much higher quality, have higher data transfer rates BUT also much more expensive. (About 50% more than a Sandisk card here in Germany) It is, by the way the only card I have tested which is not manufactured in China.

SimpleTech should work, mad in Japan. Pretec should also work, just not as sure.

that explains it. taiwan or China SD + axim = unhappy ppl
i wonder how many lexar owners out there have chinese or taiwanese SD cards. i think you just got unlucky. I bought two lexar 256 MB SDs, and they're both made in japan and they work great. they were made in the same factories (almost definitely) as simpletech SDs. most people who have lexar SD have ones made in Japan, as far as i can tell.
and the second one was only $55....(tried to get the $48 at buy.com but no stock)

Lexar SD died today after less than two weeks. Popped it out. Made in China!

I just had my Lexar 256SD die after 1 week of ownership which equals only about 4 days of actual use. They are sending me a new one and according to them should be within a week.

Sadly, after hearing that Lexar are occasionally made in Japan, I purchased one with the packaging showing "made in Japan" only to discover "Taiwan" printed on the card!!
There is only one solution to this entire problem:
Panasonic or Toshiba SD cards - nothing else will work in the long run! I now have one of each and they work absolutely perfectly quite apart from being a lot faster than Sandisk and Co.

sorry, forgot to warn you about the "mislabelling" of lexar packages--they ALL say made in japan on the outside.
SimpleTech gets all of its cards from Japan. I have come across a grand total of 2 Japan cards that failed--one SimpleTech and one Lexar.
happy hunting

I'm learning to hate AR0304LR....
I'm under the impression that any SD card that has an eight alphanumeric code starting with A on the back is going to corrupt your data sooner rather than later...
... but only if you write to your SD card whilst it's in your Axim...
