Yeap mine doesn't work anymore. Maybe the throwing against the wall thing might work for me?! It might fix my mental state anyways! :rolling:

Exclamation

this is really frustrating. Is there anyone out there that has over come this problem?

"There was no response from your mobile device while checking out-of-date appointments.

IF NOT, those of you that have the problem need to join together and try to figure out what it is that is causing this

OTHERWISE WE HAVE USELESS PDAs!!!

I have also had the same problem. I asked Dell online help for some direction. They sent the following information.

Steve, I would advise you to uninstall and reinstall the ActiveSync
software:

Uninstall ActiveSync

1.Click Start, Settings, Control Panel.
2.Double click Add / Remove Programs.
3.Locate Microsoft ActiveSync in the program list.
4.Click Remove.
Follow the instructions on the screen to uninstall.
Note: Do not choose to delete the Synchronized Folders.
Reboot the system.

Install ActiveSync
1.Insert the Axim X5 Installation CD.
2.The Getting Started with your PocketPC installation window
appears.
3.Click Start Here.
4.Click Install ActiveSync 3.5.
5.Click Install.
6.Click OK.
7.Click Open (for IE6) or Run from here (for IE 5 or older.)
8.Click Next.

If the issue still persists, then please perform the soft reset
of the axim.

Steps to perform the soft reset are as given below :

1.Power on the Axim, if it isn't already on.
2.Push the reset button with the stylus.
The reset button is located on the left side of the Axim, below
the record button.

I did all of these things and had a problem with the unit syncing. I then did a hard reset and reloaded all new data. It has now been working correctly for 48 hours.

Hope this helps.

sorry, I know exactly how you feel!

I did the hard reset and still could not sync

I had to REMOVE the program (Activestync)

and then re-load it. I have about 3-4 days now with things working fine

I already removed active sync and reloaded. I backed-up all my info prior to the hard reset, so that may be the prob, going to hard reset without restoring backup from compact flash

Man this better work or I am screwed................

well, to be honest the "Data Backup" program from Dell also failed me!

I had to start from ALMOST scratch. Obviously what you have synced on OUTLOOK will be reinstalled

Hope it works out. The 7 days that I could not sync where sickening!!

After the hard reset, if I restored from a recent backup that was made when I was having the out-of-date appointments error message, I just started getting the message again. I had to restore from an old backup from before I was having this problem. Or, alternatively, one would have to hard reset and re-load everything from scratch again. Mine is still working since the hard reset, although now I have to contact some software companies because my unlock codes don't work anymore.

Has anyone figured out what might be causing this? I found it on one other forum board that was NOT Axim but NOTHING to the extent that we have had with the Dell

OK, I hard reset, restored from old back-up, and it worked for a week. Then... tonight... again with the out-of-date appointments error! I'm ready to go back to IPAQ soon. After a soft reset, I was able to sync, but this is how it began last time, gradually, insidiuosly, then increasing in frequency until you can't sync at all and it drives you nuts. There's a more recent post that recommends deleting the picviewsync.dat file in the windows directory of the axim. I'll try anything at this point.

Has anyone found THE answer to why this problem occurs?

Does Dell care?

I think you are the first return "customer". Up till now I was hoping that once it was fixed it was fixed.

What I don't understand is how it can happen gradually(same thing happened with me). I have continued to look out there and have not seen anything short of a hard reset to fix this. Or should I say: "temporarily fix this"

I use Agenda Plus, but not the full Fusion part (I just want the 7-day view). I never had a problem with it on the ipaq.

How about the dell keyboard as a culprit? After my hard reset and restore from old backup, the keyboard driver is the only thing that I had to load.

Big Smile

Problem is solved......................really!!

First of all do you have Resco Picture Viewer?? If so that is the problem.

Follow these instructs to sync every time..........

"Viewed 49 times

I found this fix on the Microsoft site in their user forum:

1) Remove the file named "picViewSync.dat" (If you have it) in the windows
directory on the pocket PC

2) Perform a soft reset

3) Synchronize again

If you're nervous, as I was, about deleting a system file like this, cut/paste it into your temp folder rather than deleting it. I'm now fully synchronized for the first time in days. "

I have dumped Resco Pic Viewer, because I have ACDsee, and I sync every time.

Man am I happy...........................................
