Stuck with A00

Well there are FOUR seperate issues. First, which is more important than the other, is the fact that I cannot upgrade using the A04 patch given by dell. I am currently running A00 (as the title suggests), and trying to apply the patch (downloaded size of R63937.EXE IS 14,421,872 bytes). The error I get is an "unstable file", after patching. It then reverts to A04.

Second Problem: When using Letter Recognizer, I cannot exit out of it! I have to soft-restart to get it unfrozen. Otherwise, I will be writing on the screen with blue, and cannot exit.

Third Problem: When I press and hold the power button (for a good 10 seconds), it doesn't do anything. Is there a problem with this?

Fourth Problem: Anyone playing Gikadiver let me know what buttons to use! I am pressing all the buttons but its not working! Is there a config for the buttons somewhere? I know my Jornada has something that will enable button mapping for games.

Are all these issues interrelated with A00? Thanks so much for reading all this too :).

Which X5 do you have? The A04 ROM only works on the advanced version. For the basic, you will need to use A03 (R59756.EXE).

What are you trying to do by holding down the power button? A quick press should turn it on/off. Holding it for a couple of seconds is suppose to toggle the backlight.

Sorry, I cannot help with the other problems.

The power button does not serve its purpose. I have tried to press it briefly, and yet, the problem persists. I have the one with 400MHz (advanced) as opposed to the 300MHz.

nevermind... A hard reset got most of the things working (besides the upgrading part)
