MSN Messenger update lost in translation

After I recent hard reset I've been trying to update my messenger program without success. Have downloaded the update from microsoft a d have executed it but it dosen't seem to update on my X5. Driving me nuts 'cos I've successfully updated in the past without problems.

Now I'm getting lost in translation...

Solved it guys,

Was getting an error code whenever I tried to run the update. Error code 1612. Entered the error code into google tonight and found the answer. Apparently there was or is a flaw in my windows installer so I downloaded a clean up utility which I ran and it erased any and all install history related to the messenger update.

I started from scratch - ran the update and it worked first time - sweet!!
