Cool Axim, XP & Activsync!

I have my axim at home in the cradle, and at work i bought an additional sync cable.
At work with the cable & Win2K the whole thing works like a dream. The axim is found within seconds of pluging in the cable and syncs as it should!
Meanwhile....
At home with the cradle and XP pro it takes an age to find the axim and occasionally it just doesn't! I
always put it in the cradle after boot up and i am running ativsync 3.6. WHY!!!!!!

I am now also finding that the axim and acticsync can cause some of my programs to hang! The three finger salute will allow u to choose 'end now' but it doesnt do anything, the programs just sit there in the start bar, however, if i then remove the axim from the cradle, they close down and hey presto everything is back to normal!!???!

Is it just me and my pc is getting its own back from years of abuse or has anyone else found this???

Please tell me i have missed an obvious XP patch!!!!!!!

The issues your having are related to your usb port. Some Intel USB ports are notorious for losing connectivity to devices. Add an additional USB card to your PC and it should fix the issue.

I have a vintage Dell (P3/550) with Win XP Pro at work and Dell (P2/450) with Win ME at home. I have had no problems at all with either machine....with this exception:

I am running the ActiveSync 3.5 that came with the Axim. There have been numerous reported problems upgrading to 3.6, and the only improvements in 3.6 are for the Pocket PC Phone devices.
