Mad Screen Lockup

I am having a problem with my screen locking up. When I hit the OK icon top right (in many applications) the keyboard menu lower left pops up I cannot go any farther. A soft reset will fix the problem sometimes. I can also fix the problem sometimes by using the calander key and changing to the month view and bang around for a while then hitting the OK icon. My x5 is PocketPC v3.0

Screen Fix

Hi,

Your problem is the same that most have had. Take a look at the other posts on "Mylar" and you'll find the instructions on how to take it apart, clean away any dust/dirt, place a small strip of tape over the ribbon cable in the lower right corner where the "Home" button is located to cover the mylar ribbon strip, and reassemble it. That should cure your problem.

Some users have only disassembled and cleaned their unit and the problem recurred. That's what happened to me, and the problem returned. I believe it's imperative to place a piece of tape over the mylar ribbon even if there doesn't appear to be a problem (to the naked eye) because it will eventually occur.

Don't panic; all can be rectified in less than 15 minutes.

Another thing to consider is whether or not there is something trapped along the edges of the screen. It may be just dirt/dust or it may be your screen protector, if you are using one. If you are using a screen protector, try removing it to see if it helps.
