bent cf port pin

I just noticed that one my CF pins are bent on my axim. I don't have a CF card yet, but i tried my cousins out yesterday and it said something about needing a driver. Whats the deal??? I just got the axim the other day. Any recommendations on tools to fix it? Its bent down pretty far... trying to use the stylus pen to get it back in place. Might have to call dell up if the CF card I ordered doesn't work

Tried what device of your cousins? If it was a memory card, I would say yeah, its not working correctly.

I wouldn't mess with it trying to straighten it. They are pretty stiff. Send it back to Dell.

Well a memory would not ask for a driver like originally mentioned. If it does, dony use your CF port untill fixed. I am not sure but it may damage or corrupt files on it.

Of course if it was a WiFi CF card or camera, GPS etc.. you may truely ned drivers for it when insterted the first time.

I think the error message was something like this
"unrecognized device. Please specify name of driver"

something like that. I really hope it doesn't take too long to fix

The same thing happened to me on my Nikon Coolpix 4500.

One of the pins got bent when I first (eagerly) loaded up my IBM Microdrive.

This is what I used. It's a straightened paperclip, with a small 90 degree bent at the end, sharpened with a file on both sides so it can get under a bent pin that's flat against the bottom of the CF slot:

i tried doing it, but my pin was bent all the way to the bottom, and when i got it up, it was so loose it eventually bent off. But I got a new replacement from dell so i'm happy with that.
