Axim not turning itself off after displaying an appointment alarm

If I set an alarm for an appointment, my Axim does not turn itself off after the alarm sounds. resulting in the battery running down if I don't catch it and turn it off manually.

Did you set your battery power?
(Start--> Settings --> System tab
- tap on Power
- tap on Control tab
-make sure On battery power is checked and set it to the time desired. I have mine set for 3 minutes but I suggest that you test it for 30 seconds with another alarm set.

My setting was at 5 minutes so that shouldn't have been the problem. I changed it to 3 minutes, but that still doesn't account for the fact that it never turns off after an alarm???

i was having same trouble and even tried what ceej13 recommended but had to do it several times before it stuck - seemed to remove this preference after I was quite sure I saved it. I did a hard reset and restored from backup on SD and set preference and haven't had the trouble since (so far!).

My notification light won't go off. Any suggestions? I did go into settings and unchecked the light notification icon, yet it has not had an effect.
