BONUS - Dell replaced my Defective Unit

I've considered the D-Pad problem on my AXIM an annoyance - I never use it. However, when on another thread folks were talking about DELL shipping the new PXA250 C1 processor I decided to go ahead and call tech support and request a replacement.

The replacement came next business day and indeed included the new processor. Thanks DELL. As an added bonus the tech support rep stated they cared only for receiving the defective main unit back. I did not need to ship any of the boxed accessories that comes with the replacement unit -- so I get a free standard lithium battery, a free backup battery and a free charger and software. Thanks again DELL!

Could you tell me how do you know it is the new pxa 255 cpu inside? I had just ordered the 400 this monday and like to verify it once it arrives. You sure had extra nice backup parts for your Axim there. That is very nice from Dell to do that; I am sure they are selling tons of these Axim judging the popularity of this wonderful ppc. I bought the 300 now I want the 400. May be I will sell the 300 to my brother.

Hi,

You just need to go to Start -> Settings -> System.....and then click on either "About" or "System Info". The CPU type should be listed in either one or both of these places.
