Is your screen losing brightness gradually? Mine is...any ideas?

Ok.. .I've had my Axim for nearly 3 years. Like tv's you might think that over time the screen begins to fade or not be as clear, yet LCD is different. The screen is clear but the brightness has gone down a notch and no amount of rebooting, reset hard or soft works.
It's clearly not as bright as day one and the whites seem a tad gray.

Do you send it back to Dell for new backlights or can you do this yourself?

Anyone ever have thios problem?

Yeah - I think I saw that happening on my dear old E-100 - but by the time it was at all noticeable the motherboard developed a crack and I couldn't synchronize it anymore. I had the thing for just about 3 years when it finally died.

Offhand it might just be time to replace the unit anyway - unless that's all that's wrong with it. The cost of fixing a 3-year-old unit probably wouldn't really be worth it.
