Battery question

Hey guys,
Just a random tech help question for you. I just got my Dell PDA in the mail today, and I've had it charging for about 2 hours now. The box says "charge for at least 4 hours", but I just noticed that the green light is showing instead of the charging yellow light. I'm going to wait the full 4 hours just in case, but would it be ok to use it now or not?

Just to be safe, try it while charging. It should be just fine.

Try it while charging? You mean turn it on but keep it plugged into the sync cradle? Now, I'm a PDA newbie, I'll admit it, but I am a tech whiz :). I figure that the PDA will charge even when in the cradle and doing activesync and such, correct?

If your PC is on, of course. :) but if you don't want it to sync yet, just pull the USB plug. If you don't want to do that but just charge it, pull the adapter from the cradle take the Axim out of the cradle and plug the adapter into the Axim. It's up to you. ;)

Well, I had the power adapter plugged directly into the Axim so I just switched it to the cradle and powered up the cradle. Now the light is the charging yellow/orange color again. I figure that's probably normal as it'll go green in a few minutes when the battery comes back up again.

That's normal. At least when I do it.
BTW, congrats on your new toy, fellow Aximite. :)

Ok, one last question. It might seem a bit dumb, but how do I powerdown the Axim and turn it off? Just by hitting the power-on button I assume?

Quick click on the power button is on/off. Longer pressing of that same button is bright/dim for the screen.

CF and SD question

One other thing: I just powered it down and decided to take out my CF wifi card. The axim screen came on and then everything crashed. I had to finally get a reset out of it to get everything normal again. How do I remove CF and SD cards without the Axim going haywire?

When you remove a card, the Axim comes on. Happens every time. I've never had a crash, but if you have a app running that is writing to or depending on the card, and you remove the card, the app won't be able to complete.
