I installed a new harddrive, now I can't sync

Hey everyone.
I recently purchased a new harddrive, and spent all day yesterday reinstalling all my progs and transfering data. I made sure I synched my Axim one last time before I fully switched over, so all my latest info in in there.
I'm on the new hardrive and I installed Activesynch, but now for the life of me, I can't get my AXIM to sync. Everytime I plug in the USB cable my XP machine tries to install it as a new device. I hit cancel and try to sync, but just keeps beeping over and over again.
I switched to different USB ports, nothing. I named my computer Starscream, just like the last harddrive, and made sure my activesynch on my AXIM would synch to starcream, (the same name from my computer with the old harddrive)

Any Idea?

This might seem like a dumb question, but you did install the Axim driver right? ActiveSync by itself won't see the Axim, you need the driver from Dell.

Try downloading and installing the Axim driver and see what happens.

Axim Driver

Well I have installed new hard drives and I have yet been able to sync the PDA to the new harddrive with out reinstalling everything on the PDA. I think it is that when you install to the PDA it also installes it to Activesysnc. the only way I have gotten this to work for me is to have done a full backup of your PDA and then when ready do a hard reset on it and sysnc to active sysnc the prefore a restore from the backup.

if there is a better way it would be great to know, but like I said this is the only way I have ever gotten this to work.
