Axim did a hard reset on it's own!!

Have any of you had this happen. I havent had any troubles with my Axim, just a while ago here at work I was reading my Avantgo stuff and the screen changed to the startup screen that comes up after a hard reset! I had to align the screen and all. wiped everything out in main memory.

Luckaly I store all important data on the SD card. so I have that. and I did a back up just saturday. But boy this was wierd and makes me nervous. I hape it doesnt do this when I am out on a trip! I shall be super screwed then. I am thinking I best cary the lateset back up with me on a CD just incase.

I had the same exact problem and it continued for a couple of weeks. I did everything I could think of including removing both batteries and waiting 5-10minutes. I contacted Dell and they sent me out a replacement axim. Although refurbished it looks brand new and I haven't had a single problem with it. It is a much more recent version than my previous one so there are no D-pad issues to deal with. I'm very pleased with their service. I called on a Saturday and it was delivered on Tuesday a.m.

Try removing the batteries and if this continues I would contact Dell. Initially they wanted me to wait 48 hours and they would contact me to see if I still had the problem. I had to convince them this was happening over and over and I didn't really want to lose my data again etc... One good thing to come out of. I'm an expert at backup/restore

Good luck

If it was February, I would take the snow over the rain any day. This time of year....I'm ready for sun!!!!

Snow would be hard to take in April!!!

Heh---

The same thing happened to me, which is why I posted a thread asking how many HARD/SOFT resets everyone has done.

I did a soft-reset, and up came the "configure your stylus" screen.

Haven't had it happen since tho--

I am from Tacoma, WA originally, my folks live in Vancouver, WA, and I presently live in Provo, UT.

And yes, it is snowing here...

Rain? What Rain? why it never rains more than 360 day per year. Argh! I Commute via Ferry From Bremerton to Seattle on My Motorcycle. Yesterday was just plain ole miserable. Why are we having winter in Spring? I hear Iraq is lovely this time of year.

Tacoma! Wow well you can come on back here, Tacoma doesn't smell as bad as it use to. They finaly riped down the old paper Pulp mill. but now Whitecenter in Seattle has a new odor. I think it is just all the mold...LOL you know I should have known better moving to a state whose State Flower should have been Mildew.

:) Don't get me wrong; I love living here and wouldn't want to live anywhere else....just need to complain about the rain once in awhile.

Any more random hard resets?

no not yeat, I am now afraid to shut it off, as that is when it dumped on me. Maybe I shall blame it on the rain, hey everyone else in Seattle does...:D

Nah I know what you mean. I whine about the rain all the time but it is still so much better then the freezeing weather in Denver from where I moved from.

I accidently filled mine up and it hard reset and wiped everything. Pocket Backup is a great tool. I also ran the rom A02 upgrade, it didn't ask me to save anything, just wiped. I returned the favor and re wiped.

It never rains here in Edgewood. Snows once in a while.
