I just destroyed my Axim somehow in my bookbag (I haven't invested in a case for my Axim, dumb me.)
I need to get the digitizer repaired, and after calling Dell, I couldn't be more frustrated. They offer exactly ZERO repair solutions, or so the woman on the phone told me. I mean, I work for the company, and I can't belive this. I've looked high and low, and nobody can help me. So, I get to this site and the previous thread on fixing screens had a link to ppctechs.com to get the screen fixed. The price is okay, but I was wanting to know - has anyone else had them do this proceedure, and how did it turn out? Was it easy? Did it work? Did you have any problems later? Also, is there a DIY fix out there? All I need is a digitizer, not a full screen replacement. If there's a way to do the labor myself (I'm not an electroics repair newbie), I am willing to give it a shot and save myself some cash. Any help? Plaid BTW - great site! I'm shopping for a case for when my Axim gets back in service.

This thread has information about a replacement screen. PPCTechs does quality work. I've not had anything done by them, but from all reports they are a quality shop that does good work.

Jake,
I just got some screen protectors in the mail from PPCtechs and when I install the sp, my Axim can't sense the stylus. Nothing happens as the protector is probably too thick. I followed the instructions for installing it properly, but what am I doing wrong?

Gatorguy, I don't know what to tell you. I have the same protectors and they work just fine for me. There was a report that if you trap an edge of any screen protector under the frame of the screen the screen gets confused and refuses to accept any taps at all. Could that be it?
Hope it works out for you.
