X5 won't respond to on button

I just loaded Pocket PC 2003 in my X5 by using the .img file on a CF card and re-installed my netgear 802.11b card. However, I now have a problem. When I turn the X5 off, I can't turn it on again. It doesn't respond to the on button. It does start when I push the reset button, but when I turn it off, I have the same problem when turning it on again. I tried popping out the battery and replacing. I can then get it to turn on with the power button, but I get the "battery power lost - system in sleep mode" message and still have the problem on the next power up.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Tricky but fixable

I had the same problem, after doing a clean install. I fixed it by using backup from my wife's X5 (our PIM info is very similar & we back up to an SD card), clearing the memory by pressing the 'reset' and 'on' buttons simultaneously then restoring the backup file.

If you need a simple fix I'd suggest backing up just you PIM information and restoring to that. To save all your other stuff backed up perhaps use another storage card - I found that using the backup file from my original setup merely re-installed the conflict or whatever it was preventing my X5 from working.

Hope this helps,
