Now that i read your message I wonder... why is it that it is taking so long for me to to perform a full backup/restore? For me it takes around 40 minutes every time... is this normal? what can i do to shorten the backup time? this is usb craddle

If you are using the backup/restore utility in Active Sync it is perfectly normal. It took me about an hour to do a full backup and almost two hours to do a restore.
