Stupid Blue Monkey CF bluetooth purchase....

I just purchased the Blue Monkey CF Bluetooth Card(and PC adaptor) for my Dell Axim5(pocketPc 2003)mainly but also laptop. I know stupid move judging by posts here now I am looking for support. The CD supplied with the software did not load the drivers into my X5 despite the purchase page saying the CF card would be good for all PocketPC devices.

I searched the Expansys support Forums and downloaded all the latest software/drivers (v. 2.24) from Anycom. I then did a Soft reset of the Axim. However, whenever I try to pair the device with T68i, the CARD shows IDLE on the anycome bluetooth software on the X5, and the PocketPC does not register I have any bluetooth hardware installed if I try to set up say a bluetooth modem connection. The only time I get the blue light lit on the CF card is a few blue flashes when I first reset the Axim, otherwise it's dead.

Anyone ?

Well I thought that might get a response, even if I knew that it wouldn't solve my problem with my Bluetooth CF card.

Cheers

Ok. Heres where I have got so far..........not very far.

However, I have found the problem. The drivers are not installing onto the X5. The .exe drivers setup file which runs on my laptop, with Active Sync running and PPC connected, runs through the complete set-up, including where the add/remove active sync pop-up appears. However, it doesn't ask me if I want to use the default directory, nor does the drivers appear in the add/remove window list. This just leaves me to select OK or cancel on the Active Sync Add/Remove and then the setup program says install finished.

End result, no drivers unstalled on the Axim.

There are three .cab files: data1 data2 and engine32. I tried transferring the entire WIDCOMM file to my PPC and opening the .cab files on the Pocket PC.

For each .cab attempt I get the pop-up, "XXXX.cab is not a valid Windows CE setup file...." message.

Is that what you meant ?

Unfortunately if you go the Widcomm site who I believe are the white label manufacturers for the "Blue Monkey CF Card" you find that they were bought out by broadcom. If you go to the broadcom site you find that they do not really support small customers but only other businesses that use their products.

I have google searched and found the latest software elsewhere, but it has the same effect as above(ie. drivers don't load)

Appreciate the time and help guys.

If the card is broadcom based, have you checked that site (broadcom) for standardized BT drivers for the Broadcom based BT cards?
