Worried Axim X5 Driver

I am in need of the driver that came with the Axim X5. Does anyone have this. My X5 sync for over a year and now all of a sudden, it won't sync. I have fdisked my computer and now it's asking for a driver for the new usb hardware.

Can anyone help? Please!
Thanks
Kim

You should not need a driver. What OS is it?

You should disconnect the Axim, reboot, install Activesync from Microsoft's website and once AS is installed, connect the X5.

Shame on you Howard!

With some systems the X5 will need a USB Driver before it will connect.

You want to download "R55367.exe", from HERE. :approve:

I stand corrected :)

I do remember that USB driver with my X5 - I never had to install it though.

Was it only 95 and ME systems that needed it?

I remember when I was running 98SE, that I needed it.

Using XPPro now, but haven't synced with it yet. I'd be willing to bet that XP won't need it though.

I'm running Windows 2000 and never had to use it.

Oh well - not to worry :)

Unplug your USB Cable > uninstall ASync > reboot your PC > Reinstall ASync > reboot your PC > Plug in your USB Cable > place your Axim in the cradle.

For me, it was installed automatically from the CD when I first set up the X5 and was certainly needed for WinXP. The 'default' windows USB driver for mobile devices wouldn't work with the X5 on the original PPC02 ROM and there were a lot of people that had problems in the early days with their PC not recognizing the device. I've been recommending to people since then but at least one user with a 'new' X5 installed AS 3.8 from M$ and didn't need the X5 driver so I'm assuming either the latest ROM makes it unnecessary or AS 3.8 or maybe WinXP SP2 does.

But I don't have the CD that came with the Axim and I am running Win2000 Pro.
