Okay...I bought the Connect Plus 128 from Woot before coming here. Mostly I wanted the WIFI, not the memory. Am I the unlucky one who can use the memory and NOT the WIFI??? How can I get the WIFI working instead of the memory. I have an AT&T wireless router and the card will not auto detect.
Many people had problems when this card first came out and Dell, who sold it on their website, posted that it was 'not for the X5.' However, at least one user (leeosenton) posted in this thread by leeosenton

I'm running Win03 and the latest CF patch from Dell...
If you do not have WM03 on your X5, then it probably won't work. If you do, make sure you downloaded the latest drivers from Sandisk specific for WM03 and have installed the Dell Axim X5 CF Driver Update from Dell's downloads.
P.S. I've gotten rid of your other thread. Please take MrK's advice about not doing this again. Thanks.

No, I just posted here after removing the other thread. The main reason for not cross posting is so people don't waste their time writing a response when one has already been given. On the other hand, if someone knows something that will work that is different from what I've posted, they will be able to fill in the extra details.

Storino replied to my original posting and stated that I should have posted it in the hardware forum. So I did. Then I'm told I'm cross posting. Are people here to help others or confuse them and tell them they're breaking forum rules? Anyway, my card is working fine. It does auto-detect and the memory works.

As stated in the removed Post, if you suspect you may have Posted in the incorrect Forum, it is just best to leave it there and let a MOD move it if necessary.
This is preferable to Cross Posting, as explained by IkeHiker.

Storino didn't say anything about leaving it for the mods to move it. He just stated that I put it in the wrong place. Different boards have different rules and as you can see, I don't post here often. So I made a simple mistake and it seems rather than just telling me that for furture reference, making a joke about it was the choice.
"Lol! Busted! Lol! :d" from Storino and your two original comments were more critical than informative.
.....make sure you completely remove any drivers you loaded from the CD that came with the card. Then, download and install the CF slot patch from Dell's website. Next, download the appropriate drivers from Sandisk. My friend just bought that card, and had WM2k3 on his X5 Basic. We just went through this process. He has the patch and the latest WM2k3 drivers from Sandisk. We did this on Friday and Saturday morning he and his wife drove to San Antonio for a Home Schooler's book fair. Standing outside the colliseum he detected an open access point and promptely began surfing the web and sent me an e-mail.
