I just got an x5 from a friend, but its missing a few components, mainly the 9 volt dc adapter and cradle. I bought a usb sync and charge cable, hoping to charge it (if slowly) through usb. I left it on thinking it would charge the main battery, but it has done absolutely nothing. The status is "charging" but there is no progress. When I turn it off, it's dead and won't run unless connected. Do I need software to charge the main battery specifically, or could this be a hardware problem?

as far as I know you need the power cable.
