Well I ran the battery all the way out to see how long I have until it shuts down.. I got great battery life, so when it turned it's self off, I hooked it up to the charger and went to bed..

I wake up this morning when to go reach for my watch and the pda slipped off the table and it turned on by it's self, and thats when this happened.

Funny tho how I had most my stuff gone, but other stuff still stayed like notes and 2 reader files.

I keep all the ".exe" install files on my computer in a special place just in case, then I backup my pocket pc on a 16mb mmc card weekly or before I install a new program. I like sprite backup because it compresses my backups to half the actual size!, so I do not need to have to worry about large backup files anymore. Should consider it, try their trial version.

I agree with them, you are lucky the screen didn't break. Also, the built in storage is permanent so you can save important backups and files there if you do not have a storage card.

Wow if the screen broke because of that little fall then that would be pretty cheap...

Out of curiosity, was your X5 upgraded to WM2003?

My wife's X5 has done two hard resets in the past week, with no abuse and a fully charged backup battery. I thought it was perhaps just getting too old, and she's played a lot of Dr. Pocket on it.

But... Today I was just freeing up some memory on my X5, by cleaning out the IE files, and it locked up. So after waiting a while, I hit the soft reset button... and it decided to hard reset. First time it's been hard reset since I installed the WM2003 upgrade on it over a year ago.

I didn't get the choice to cancel the hard reset. My wife's gave that option, (but choosing to cancel never worked on hers, and only agreeing to the hard reset worked)...

So... Is anyone else getting frequent hard resets these days? Could it be a problem with the WM2003 upgrade? I'm at a loss. This was the first/most resent topic I found that addressed a spontanious hard reset. Since I've seen it happen 3 times on two X5s in the past week, I thought I should ask.

Thanks,
-John

How do you like your Axim X5 so far?

I like mine. The final puzzle will be complete when I buy the Rhinoskin Aluminum case and a GPS CF card ^_^

Yes you can, I have a a00 and a04 axim x5 and they both hit the speed I described.

597mhz
199mhz PXbus
100mhz RAM

But, for some reason this works better...

597mhz
100mhz RAM
100mhz PX Bus

If you feel confident you may try 118mhz ram, I am unsure if it would work though.

Double click speed configuration.
Sort my cpu, scroll down to the highest settings, select the one that says

597 100 100 T

Then press test, now the cpu it set to that, each time you open the program it will set the speed, click minimize it to keep the cpu at that speed. If you exit it, the speed will remain the same until you turn the device off, then on again.
