when in speed config, hold your stylus over the stats in the list and select filter>generic>pxa255>slow 100mhz sdram>400mhz cpu. Then select the highest speed from there.

still locked up, but I saw a line that would of been the testing speed box.
I hope you backed up, I probably should of recommended it before I gave instructions.
Putting in the speed your self would require some sort of coding, I don't exactly know about it, its not as simple as entering 100mhz in Bus, etc. Besides the set schemes should work just as well, I do not understand why it should lock up even if it wasn't set to startup. Did it lock up right in the benchmark, or after?
Are you sure you have that original rom version? The one that you veiw through settings may differ from the one underneath your battery.

Yes, in atomic cannon you see a +5 Frames per second increase when using default 400mhz settings, on withmp3 my bars go faster. My axim is quicker at loading menus, windows, a bit on transfer rates, a great improvement on video playback!.
I suppose there is no reason to overclock it unless you are playing video since there are no games that demand such cpu power today for the pocket pc and who cares about the bars on your mp3 player.
