I'm in total shock.. My pda slipped off the dresser this morning and fell with the screen up, and so it turns on and I see the Dell Logo, then it tells me to Tap to Set up WM2003...
Unfortunately hard resets are part of the Pocket PC world, all your data which wasn't in ROM or on a card is lost. This is why backing up your data regularly is so important ( I backup mine every night, more often if I am doing a lot). I would recommend using either the built in backup program or get sprite backup (the best backup software in my opinion).
I did not press Anything it just turned on and Bam...
Now I have to try and locate the software I used before...
It did bounce off the floor though...
Hard resets do happen from time to time.. sometimes with no apparent reason. Thats why having a propper backup regime is a good idea., If like me you aren't disciplened enough to get the Built in backup utility to back up everynight then use sprite.. it will do it all automatically

I think you have one built in... but you have to remember to start the backup

hope you didn't mean me...
If you do a bit of searching on aximsite you'll find a similar thing happend to me. No bounce just a random hard reset. I had a backup from a week or so before and spent the next few days rebuilding the thing. That's when i tried sprite.. and it works for me. I was just passing on the info.

In the future, if this should happen again (or to anyone else), try Canceling the Hard Reset when prompted by pressing the indicated Hard Button.
This is what's commonly referred to as a "Fake Hard Reset". It will also, sometimes, work as a last resort when your Axim freezes up, by starting the Hard Reset process manually. :approve:
