Worried Extended 3200mAh battery trouble

I have had my X5 for almost 2 years with no major problems. I thought it might be wise to get a replacement battery while they were still available, so I ordered a 3200mAh battery from Proporta. When it came I was disappointed to find it was twice as thick as the original battery - my aluminium case is too small for the X5 now. Then after charging both batteries I decided to put the original battery back in (being careful to be quick - the battery was only out for about 20 seconds) However later when I went to turn the x5 on, to my complete dismay it had done a hard reset and was asking me to align the screen. How did that happen?

So,feeling fed up, I turned it off again. Later I went to turn it on and the power button would not work, in fact none of the buttons worked, it just wouldn't come on. I had to put it in the cradle to make it come on. Then it wouldn't turn off. Had to do a soft reset to get the buttons working again.

My question is: why did this happen when I was so careful with the batteries? Should I keep this extra large battery and if yes is there a case that would fit? Or could this battery cause me grief again if I try to use it? Is there anywhere that still sells the normal original size battery?

Sorry for waffling on so long, but I am quite fed up as I have really started to rely on my x5 for many things and having to restore everything will take up so much time .. winge .. winge!

Sounds like your internal back up battery is bad.You may need to replace it.

I will buy another one, however this one still says it's 100% full.
