My X5 has gone silent ....
I wonder if anyone can help. My Axim X5 seems to have lost all sound functions. Moving the slider in 'Sounds and Notifications' from 'silent' to 'loud' makes no difference as every time I check it again it has returned to 'silent' I no longer hear any screen taps and Windows Media Player is silent too. Is it anything I can fix myself or has the sound chip died?

Have you tried doing a soft reset? If that fails, backup your important stuff, and do a hard reset. If still no luck, then if it is under warrenty, get with Dell and see what they can do.
