mine too...

I was using it off an on through the morning, and when I tried to turn it on it ignored me... The battery still had over 50%

I've tried soft resets, hard resets, cradle, car chanrger, jiggling the cord, etc.

after doing the dell email routine, they are warrantee replacing it....

Thanks Derek... You have had a lot of great suggestions, but I think that the poor X5 might be at the end of the road. I like the unit, so guess I need to start looking for another...

That sounds bad for those of us that are out of warranty, radimus... I am sure that if it easily fixable, Dell would attempt the repair.

Here is what they requested of me

Quote:
Thank you for contacting Dell's Consumer Hardware Warranty Support.

I understand you have an issue with the Dell DJ.

I apologize for the inconvenience to you with the Dell DJ & moreover I can understand your frustration. I take the complete ownership regarding solving your concern.

I request you to please follow the steps mentioned below

To resolve the Axim X50 'No Power' issue please follow the steps below and let me know the results:

Step 1: Verify AC Power

Disconnect the AC adapter from the system and wall.
Wait 10 seconds.
Make sure to bypass any surge protector or Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS).
Plug the AC adapter directly into a wall outlet that is known to be good.
Plug the AC adapter directly into the Pocket PC and check the power LED located in the power button.

Step 2: Remove all peripherals. -Axim

Unplug the Axim from AC power.
Remove any compact flash cards from the compact flash slot.
Remove any secure digital (SD) cards from the SD slot.
Remove the primary battery.
Plug the AC adapter directly into the Axim.

Step 3: Check to see if an Axim cradle is present. If the cradle is present then follow the instructions below:

#1 Check AC adapter by placing the battery in the charging slot.

Plug the AC adapter into the Axim cradle.
Remove the primary battery from the Axim unit. Check the resources above for instructions on removing the primary battery.
Place the primary battery into the battery charging slot on the Axim cradle.
Check the front, right side of the Axim cradle for the amber charging light

#2 If the Amber charging light does not come on then the Axim AC Adapter is faulty.

#3 If the Amber light charging light comes on then Axim base unit is faulty.

If still the issue persists I request you to please provide me the following information, so that I can create a dispatch for the Dell DJ.

1. Contact Name:
2. Address: (from your original order/ invoice)
3. Current Shipping Address: (Address, City, State, and Zip) No PO Boxes please:
4. Daytime Phone Number:
5. Alternate Contact/ Phone:
6. Order Number:
7. Customer Number:
8. System service tag number ? (The service tag number is a 5 or 7-digit letter/number combination on a small bar code label located on the back or underside of the system.)

I have a AXIM X30. I dropped it and couldn't get it to do anything except charge the battery in the cradle. I held the power button and reset button on back and it restarted ok
