ac adapter gone bad?
I can only describe this as odd.
When I dock my Ax to charge and sync, the AC plug is inserted (charging) and the USB is connected to the computer - the blue "Dell" sign is barely visible and the Ax says it's charging, but the display immediatly drops to 0% charged (main battery). I know it's about at 50% since when I take it off of the cradle it quickly recovers to about 50%. Also when I take out the main battery and try to charge it in the back slot, the orange light doesn't light up and the batter doesn't charge. Finally, When I plug the charger directly into the AX the batter level goes to 0% as well. The only odd thing that I did recently (Friday)was upgrade the OS to 2003. (And I did not install the keyboard driver as of yet.) Any other idea to check the charger?

I had something similar happening to me. I thought it was a battery monitor program I had installed but I never really narrowed it down to that. My battery problem has cleared it's self up believe it or not. I am running WM2003 as well. My X5 came with WM2002. I never did experience any real issues, from what I can remember, when I had WM2002. I am sorry this is not going resolve your issue, just thought I would let you know that you are not alone here and it could very well clear up on it's own. I could very well have issues down the road but as of right now everything is working AOK.

The tell tale sign that I've got problems is that the Dell logo is dim and there is no light shining when I cradle the battery in the back charger.
An office worker has the same system w/o problems and I can charge mine on his, no issues and it does charge fine. I'm going to check the wall wart for proper voltage. That's all I can think about to do right now. Thanks for the insight.
