display light

Hi! When I turn on my Axim 5 the display is on "dim" (I suppose standby or something). anyway, I need to depress and hold the power button in order to bring to the bright position. I do not know why this is happening--I must be overlooking something. Any suggestions why this would return to the dim position when I turn it off? Thanks. ler

The backlight is OFF, not dim. If you hold the power switch (not just push it) that turns the back light off and on. So if you hold it too long when turning the unit off it may be turning off the backlight first.

Under power settings there is also a time out setting that will turn off the backlight to save the battery. Normally just touching the dislpay will turn it back on.
