I used to have an X5 and a Belkin BT card. I also had a Belkin wifi card. I had to backup and do a hard reset, then install the BT driver before the wifi driver. Then all worked fine. If I uninstalled the BT driver, it could not be reinstalled without another hard reset. This worked fine and I reviewed the Pharos BT GPS with it.

The drivers on the other thread WERE NOT incorrect. YOU have a different card to the one discussed in the other thread. I told you a hundrend times to check the model of your card before you install the drivers discussed in the other thread. The Belkin old BT model DO NOT have PPC2003 drivers in the CD, if you DO have some 2003 drivers, then it means that you have the NEW belkin bt model, in which case you were using the wrong drivers all along.

I explained this to you in the beginning of the AIM conversation earlier and YOU STILL said that you had the card with the rounded corners. I DON'T believe you, because if that was the case, the drivers would have worked. And yes, the drivers for the rounded-corner Belkin bt card do say 2000-2002 but they do work with 2003. It's Belkin's version of the 2002 drivers for the same card that doesn't work with 2003, that's why the other thread is linking to the WINDCOMM's drivers instead.

You have messed up a few things in there, but you really made me angry when I even sent you pictures of the two BT cards and you STILL said that you have the one with the rounded corners. I don't believe that this is the one you got. Post a picture to show us what Bt card you have on your X5, I dare you. :(

This picture exactly *confirms* what I was saying.

You DON'T have the old model Belkin BT card that these drivers were written for. You have the NEW version of the card which DOES HAVE 2003 drivers natively and that's why your CD had drivers for 2003 in it.

By installing the drivers mentioned in the other thread (for the model: F8T020 version 1) you installed drivers for the WRONG HARDWARE. You have the F8T020 version 2, aka F8T006. You should have never installed these drivers. Good thing you did a hard reset.

Do free up main memory though. :)

I have that old Belkin BT card. I referred to the thread eugenia posted using the registry tool and I got my card to work the very first time. The light on the card will not light up unless there is activity...no activity, no light. Anyway, I just thought I would mention that the directions she posted worked just like she said they would...that's all, lol.
