Thank you for sharing, VillaRosa. Looks like further research is needed on the SD slot.

I still wonder if it IS 100% a hardware issue?? None of the Palm series out-of-the-box had SDIO, but there was a patch to allow SDIO peripherals to work with them. Dell, or a 3rd party, really needs to investigate this.

I e-mailed that group to see if they had advanced information about SD I/O becoming available for the Axim. I'll post additional information as soon as I get a reply from them.

SD I/O would be huge. I haven't (yet) taken the wireless plunge, but I'd much rather have a SD wireless/memory combo card. That would keep my CF slot open for the IR extender.
Of course if the range on the stock IR unit wasn't so bad this wouldn't be an issue :)

They seem quite positive in their remarks. Are they confused?

They are confused.
I e-mailed them as well asking how they proved the axim to be SDIO capable and here is the response I received:

Quote:
The Dell Axim Pocket PCs do not have SD/IO support.

I just emailed them back and asked them to get that article corrected. :)

Question Will it work or not....

Strangely enought the review in the June 2003 issue of Computer Shopper (UK mag) claims the Dell Axim does support a bluetooth SD-card :rolling:

I have also found out that there are two SD types called SD1 and SD4 . It seems to be the same as SDMM and SDIO but that the only difference is a driver setting???? I think however that Dell is the only one to give an answer to that

Regards,
Peter
