X5 wont hard reset- PLEASE HELP

Ok, Was having trouble with appointments not showing up, and some other funky things that a soft reset wouldnt correct. So I tried a hard reset....steps done:

With X5 on, pressed and held reset button with stylus
held for what seemed like ever...nothing happened- black screen
when I let go, it reboots like a soft reset

Please help......

hard reset is pressing the reset and power button both together for a little while. If that doesn't work then why don't you just take the main and backup battery out.. that'll be equivalent to a hard reset I'd think.
