Who has a Verizon 815 Phone linked to their X50

Need some help here, it should not be all that complicated in theory, but somehow it seems to be so.

I can get my phone to link to the X50 (Pair) - I enter the passkey on both the PDA and bond it to the 815.

1. Do I check the box to use this phone as default connection to the internet?

2. Now I have under Bluetooth Manager the Verizon Dial-Up Networking Icon. I choose connect and make a new connection.

3. Connection name: I chose Verizon PCS
4. Phone Number:
5. Country Code: ??
6. Area Code: ??
7. Phone Number: ?? ( I use #777)
8. Network Log on
User name: (my10digitnumber@vzw3g.com)
Password: vzw
Domain Name: none

Phone attempts to connect, PDA give me a Cannot Connect message.
**Dialed #777**
The answering modem has disconnected. To check your connection settings and change them if needed etc.....

In other words, not working.

I know there is someone out there that has this same combo I have. The DELL X50 + Verizon E815 phone and has it working since Hot Spots are not everywhere.

Thanks.

Ok, i've got this down.
Dial really really fast on your Moto E815

##Dialup
or

##342587
really really fast. Try it a few times
Dial up enabled should pop up.

Country Code is 1
Area code is your area code

On you axim, go to settings, connections, connections, advance, select networks, under both ofthe tabs go click Bluetooth Settings.
it should work.

Did that and the axim initiates the call, but it is soon ended. No connection.

Using ## 342587 = Enter number exactly as it should be dialed.
User Name (My10digitnumber)@vzw3g.com
Password vzw

Under connections, connections, advanced, networks, both are set to blue tooth.

arg....

Update:

Finally got it to go to enabled....then made the call number to #777 and it seems to be working.

I've used these instructions since getting my V710 + Axim a couple years ago. They also work the same with my current E815

Motorola V710 and IPAQ DUN

Here is how you connect a WM 2003 PocketPC to a Motorola v710... You should be able to adapt the procedure for a non-WM2003 PDA with Bluetooth capabilities:

I have had my 4150 connected for a while now. The biggest mistake people make is that they use a dialing string. The v710 doesn't need it to connect.

Start/settings/connections tab/connections

Add new modem connection

Enter Name: Verizon Wireless (or whatever you want)

Select a modem: Bluetooth Dialup Modem

Enter Phone #: #777

Tap "Use Dialing Rules"

Tap "edit..."

Tap "Dialing patterns"

Remove all but "g" from each line

Tap "OK" / "OK" / "OK"

Tap "Next"

Enter user name: "yourphonenenumber@vzw3g.com"
(use your 10-digit number without hyphens)

Enter password: "vzw"

Tap "advanced"

Use baud rate 115,200

uncheck "wait for dial tone"

Tap "OK"

Tap "Finished"

Tap "ok"/"ok"

Turn on Bluetooth on your PDA and cell phone (Make sure they have a relationship before you start...)

tap the "X" to the left of teh speaker icon on the top of the pda screen

tap the blue "#777" in the dialog box

You should connect... :)

Yes it is just minutes. For some odd reason, these "minutes" have never showed up on my account :D

Thanks for the post, but hm... I do have a problem.

I followed up all the directions,
0. ##DIALUP/BT enabled
1. pair up from PDA
2. BT modem setting (as described by rototype)
3. try to connect/failed.

I don't have a problem to connect DUN into my PC using USB cable, but PDA (axim 50v) does not seem to work as indicated.

E815 - Axim X50V OBEX connection is OK.

Only one thing I'm concerned is that in BT manager (Axim), the icon shown is called "Phone: OBEX File Transfer". Is it normal? Is there some other way to pair them up?

Now I'm not convinced OBEX connection does mean they are really paired..

And I also tried to use "Connection Wizard" to use "Connect to Internet via phone", but it doesn't go through, maybe because it requires the phone to be already connected to the network, which does not apply to our case for DUN...

Well, I figured myself..
A couple of reboots to make it show "dial-up connection" on BT Wizards made it work...

I did this exactly like you described and I got a connection. Now since I'm new to this. What are we trying to accomplish? I have a connection but what am I connected to and what am I supposed to do after the connection?

Sorry for my lack of knowledge on this.

Connectivity?

I connected my Verizon LG8100 using the directions above. It connects but hangs up after 9 seconds. Anyone know if the Verizon #777 network connection a universal thing with all digital cell accounts?

Also - now I think my X50 only wants to connect to the net via phone. When I tap the network icon to left of the speaker I get asked to connect by the bluetooth phone connection. I can't get my wireless network connected even though the axim sees it will full signal strenght. Can someone give me ideas on how to fix this connection?

Thanks.
