I haven't backed up my data on the axim yet and was wondering if it would save the programs too. I have paid for some programs that I use for school and am trying to find a way to save them if something ever happens. Also, how do you get programs from the system memory to an sd card?
After everything is install and working OK do a backup. This backup will restore your PPC as it is at the time of the backup including all the software installed. You need to remove/reinstall programs to a different location to have then working properly.
BTW welcome to Aximsite

backup either with the built in util. or the excellent sprite backup, which can be set to automatically backup while you sleep.

Do it now, b/c accidents happen when you least expect it. Have a backup saved to your desktop, too, just in case your storage card has a failure. I had backups saved to my sd card, but my sd card failed so I was totally screwed. Now I keep a backup on the desktop. This happens to everyone, so prepare for the worst.

Thanks for the good thought... I need to do that. Do you do that through the sprite backup on the desktop, or just copy and save through file explorer?

Sprite Backup works directly off the PPC or through its PC agent. This means you can make backups either from your PPC or your desktop. ActiveSync 3.8 and lower also has a backup utility. Access it from your desktop by going to Tools - Backup/Restore. Don't forget to save your backups on a memory card, Built-in-Storage or your PC. Saving to Main Memory will mean it will be wiped out following a hard reset.

Yeah, I already backup to my sd card, just never thought about a "backup" backup on the desktop. Its a good idea.
