I have purchased by Axim X50v in the US, but I recently moved back to Spain.

I would like to purchase the upgrade to Windows 5.0 but Dell tells me they do not ship the CD-Rom outside the US and that I should contact Dell Spain. When I call Dell Spain they tell me they cannot provide me with the upgrade as I purchased my PDA outside the US and they will only provide the upgrade in Spanish (not available yet in Spain)...

Did anyone got the upgrade allready outside the US ? Any ideas on how to get my upgrade in English ?

Use a famous IRC channel. I was on the same situation, since I bught by ebay on US and I live in Mexico.

But believe me, I really not recommend the wm5, I used for 3 days and rollback to wm2003se, most of the aplications don't run or goes mad, the alarms don't work well (in fact this is a very known problem since wm2003), the screen can't be aligned well, and many other issues.

I will wait until Dell releases a new rom image from wm5 to test it again, until then, better to use wm2003se.

Hey dude,

It actually is possible to order the english update in Germany (http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna...ctlisting.aspx), but I don't know if there's a way to order it from spain. You might wanna check out the British Dell site and see if there's any way they ship that to you, otherwise there still is the possibility of ebay...

My advice is to stay away from the upgrade until Dell gets a new and stable release. I had a horrible last couple of weeks with WM5 until now I just managed to rescue it (I do mean rescue, it was locked up without the ability to hard reset) and install the PPC 2003 image.

I would think the Spanish version would be available before too long (but maybe not until next year). Naturally enough they'll roll out the English versions first; there's a bit less work involved.

I'm expecting a local copy from Dell Australia in tomorrow's mail. I understand the UK one is available, too.

By the time Spanish is available they will have sorted out the few remaining bugs we have to put up with by being early adopters! Your patience will pay off in the long run.

I have found that my programs work fine, have had no problems personally. I would keep WM2003 until they get problems straightened out, as many people have not been as lucky as I was, having their axims killed, or crashed. Stay with 2003 for a while!

Yeah, don't pay good pesos for a beta. Wait until they release a stable version of WM5 before you buy.
