Battery won't charge past 97%

For the past couple of days, my axim hasn't been able to charge fully for some reason. I've been playing a lot of Scumm games recently, and the battery's dropped to the warning level a few times, but would usually charge back up again with no problems. But all of a sudden, the orange light never goes off, and the meter never passes 97%

The battery doesn't feel warm at all, which makes me think the battery thinks it's fully charged, but the ax can't tell. I've tried a hard reset, and I've tried removing the battery breifly.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Let the battery discharge completely and recharge to reset the reporting of the battery charge status.

Wow thanks for the quick responses! I posted just before going out; I should have stayed a minute longer!

Anyway, I'll let it run down naturally, so I'll probably report back tomorrow night.

i just figured this out. mine is on charging and for some reason the battery meter isn't updateing. might be something that I am running, not sure but it is stuck at 97%. so i tapped on the screen near the 97% and it jumped to 100% and the green light came on. Weird!

Well, I let the axim turn itself off and charged it, and now, (2 hours later,) the light is a lovely shade of green! Many thanks!

I suggest you not drain the battery completely, rather, let it come down to say 24%, then recharge it. I think it has something to do with the fact it is lithium ion and it loses the ability to hold charge slowly.

Maybe.. but I don't think so as both my batteries do this. This issue appeared after I updated my X51v to A04. Just leave it charge for a while and then it reports 100%, at least that is what happens on the X51 not sure about the X50.

Too late now! I didn't really like the idea of letting it fully drain, but it had dropped to 20% a couple of times without resolving the problem on the next charge anyway.

I had tried leaving it to charge for an extended period after reaching 97%, but it just stayed there.

I've only had it since October and have generally taken good care if it, so I should hope the battery life hasn't deminished in that time.
