Can't sync after Office 2003 SP2 install

Morning-

Two days ago I did what I thought would be a "no harm" update to Office 2003 SP2. Can't sync since then. Get message, "Limited or no connectivity" on the laptop for the Local Area Connection. Running Windows XP Pro, SP2 on the laptop.

I've reinstalled ActiveSync 4.1. I've deleted my device in ActiveSync 4.1 to try and force it to run the Connection Wizard again. And I've reset the permissions on the Registration folder on the Windows folder - read this tip here or on some other site. All to no avail. Of course, you can't uninstall the Office SP without uninstalling all of Office and doing a clean install. That isn't going to hapen as this is my work laptop and I can't take that hit. Any recommendations?

Thanks,

Ken

I'm wondering about firewall software..... Maybe that office update also reset some settings in either windows firewall or another one..... The other thought is maybe MS changed something in Outlook, similar to what they did when they decided NOBODY should be able to click on web links, or have certain attachments......
