x50 416MHz with Socket E300 - no connection to wireless network

Can anyone help me please .. I have spent the last 2 days trying to connect to the internet through my home network. I have installed a Socket E300 WLan card in my Axim X50 (416 MHz) but cannot find my wireless home network. The network router is Linksys BEFW11S4 and I have updated to the latest firmware but even then no connection. Have uninstalled and reinstalled (soft resettig each time)and tried every permutation of settings I can think of on the Axim but still no network can be found. Can anyone help please?

yeah, tried all that and more .. even changing channels on the router. Finally after a troll through a bunch of forums I came across a suggestion to hold the Socket card between my fingers after inserting in the Axim ... amazed to find that after 15 - 20 seconds my network appeared and I managed to connect to it! I experimented with releasing the card after connecting but in some areas around the house I lost the signal immediately but in other areas it stayed and sometimes even got stronger.
Couldn't believe it but I suppose the moral is you don't have to be a genious to make things work! I let Socket into this technical secret but to be honest I found the answer on one of their own forums

wow that sucks.. however a quick fix would be take and fold a piece of paper (ya have to play with this one) and stick between the card and the unit to press the card to the unit to create better contact between the two..

goodluck
