How to configure my PPC to access the network

I posted this in the WM2003 section and no answers, so maybe I can get an answer here.

How to configure my PPC to access the network

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I know this is a really dumb question, and my apologies for doing it, but as I read no dumb questions...

OK, the thing is like this, at home I can access internet using my computer when is conected to my X50v using the usb cable , at the office, I can't.

I know the office has the Sygate agent, has the norton firewall and AV, and has several protocols, I am able to connect the X50v and download my E-mail in the office (BTW, can I also download my e-mail at home?, different accounts, same PDA)

I try to look for the settings in connections where I can change the info to connect to the network, but I ca not find out where to include my info, like loging name and password, so the axim will be autentiacted and able to acess the internet and if I want connect to the network, no WIFI option there...

Thanks

Umm... this is a toughie.

Really the only thing I can suggest is that all firewalls allow activestink to go through.

Sorry I can't help more.

I'm not 100% sure I understand.

What you're saying is that Internet Access through activesync works at home but not at work right?

Is Internet passthrough enabled on the work PC's copy of activesync?

At home, I am conected to internet in my PC, and the AX is in the cradle, on, and conected to AS 4.1, if I want to browse the internet, I can do it from the AX, if I want to do it at the office, does not find the net, whre is the place to change the settings to enable this.

and yes is hard for me to understand it to....

Just go to the start bar, look over where the time is, find the activsync icon, right click it, then click connection settings. There is a dropdown box that says "This computer is connected to" and the choose Work, Internet, and Automatic. Mine is set to Internet. Also does your work or what ever have a proxy server setup?

I just received my X51v with WM5, updated the A06, and try to do it, BTW, X50v with WM2003SE does not have an issue to do the activeSync, but still I am not able to browse the internet when it is the USB cradle, the X51v does not do the activesync unless I kill the service of the Sygate Firewall (I hope IT is not reading this because I am not supposed to do it or have right to do it...) then I am able to do the ASync, but no network access or Internet. I think the issue is with the Sygate, but even when is killed I am not able to do it, and I am really spending a lot of time ad this is a metter of I am noy quitting...and no Proxy the proxy in in the internet server, not the conection between the computer and the server, and Norton corporate edition, no firewall, just the sygate, any ideas...

for example, IE (internet Explorer) does not have to access the web via proxy, but I know for some other programs do really need an HTTP proxy server. I try to use it and still no access.
