Help needed to revive a dead X50v?

My WM5 upgraded X50v has "memory corruption" after running for about two months with numerous soft resets. Now as is, it never boots up even with a hard reset. What actually happens is when I do a soft or hard reset, the progress bar will stall at around 80% and stay for ever. Since it stucks there, there is no way to roll back to WM2003 or new good WM5 (no communication with PC). I'm passed the one year warranty perid, so it would cost $249 plus tax to get fixed by Dell, and this is insane

Thanks for any help.

Have you left it at the 80% mark for an extended period of time, like overnight? There are threads that say it takes a long time to get past this point.

I think dell/m$ have come up with the ultimate empirical test for a watched pot never boils. Good luck.

Maybe removing the Battery for a while until the BUB is Drained might force a Hard Reset
Deff go the overnight route first for finnishing hard reset as deecee mentioned :approve:

How are you doing the hard resets? Did you restore a backup from the old os to your os upgraded Ax?

I had same issue with my X50v
Luckly mine was still under warranty and Dell replaced it.
I wondered why the support tech really pushed the fact of not upgrading the new one!!!!
